News For you: Deborah James posted a touching image of her adoring father supporting her because she "had no strength" to do so. After battling colon cancer in 2016, the ardent activist stated earlier this year that she was receiving end-of-life care at home. She has been relentlessly working to increase her knowledge and understanding of the issue since receiving her diagnosis. She is known as Bowel Babe online.
Deborah posted a touching image of her father stroking her hair on her Instagram account in honor of Father's Day. The post's caption read: "Father's Day greetings! Yes, my father is brushing my hair because I no longer have the power to do so."
The 40-year-old, who posted the picture to her 974k Instagram followers, appeared sickly as her father, Alistair, took care of his daughter. As it was previously reported that she had raised £1 million for cancer research through her partnership with the brand, In The Style balloons could be seen in the background.
Since receiving her cancer diagnosis five years ago, Deborah has bravely chronicled her treatment and informed her followers of her progress. She made an appearance on the ITV talk show Lorraine earlier this month to encourage viewers to "enjoy life."
"I may be weary today from Ascot yesterday, but dad is there to hold me up," she wrote beside a photo of the two of them. "I find myself living in limbo land, not really knowing what the future holds and for how long," she said in another post about the trip.
"I was given days or maybe a week to live when I was released from the hospital more than a month ago, so this is a very stressful and uncertain time for me. And I had the urge. But as we all know, life doesn't always go as planned, so James said, "I'm just grateful for any additional time the higher forces have decided to give me.
In spite of the unsettling tears, I smile as I stare at the sun and think, "Wow, life is a weird thing, isn't it?!" better have fun!
He promises to return home, Deborah continued. Saying goodbye to him will be terrible. Right now, I really can't think about it. Deborah praised her brother and his fiancée as well.
"My brother is going to make the best father. Because I adore Ashley and see how happy they are together, I am overjoyed that he proposed. That I won't get to see their children or the dad he will be kills my heart, she added.
For Father's Day, Dame Deborah James shared a photo of her father stroking her hair as an homage to him.

After a five-year struggle with bowel cancer, the 40-year-old activist is receiving end-of-life care at her parents' house and claimed she was too weak to care for herself at this point.
She wrote: "Yes, my Dad is brushing my hair because I no longer have the stamina to brush this," praising her loving father Alistair. More than ever, my father is my unsung hero. He is silently checking on me from behind the scenes to ensure my safety.
